  • 30% federal tax credit until the end of 2019

  • 26% federal tax credit from 01/01/2020 - 12/31/2020

  • 22% federal tax credit from 01/01/2021 - 12/12/2021

  • At least half the energy used to heat the dwelling’s water must be from solar in order for the solar water-heating property expenditures to be eligible

  • The home served by the system does not have to be the taxpayer’s principal residence

Energy Goals & Achievements in Colorado

  • Xcel Energy plans to deliver 100% carbon-free electricity to Denver customers by 2050. Link

  • Xcel plans to reduce carbon emissions 80% by 2030, from levels in 2005 obtained from the eight states that Xcel serves. Link
